The AP exams are continuing as follows:  May 5 – AP Calculus; May 6 – AP US History; May 9 – AP Biology; and May 12 – AP World History.  The exams begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. in the VHS library reference room.  There are no makeups for any exams missed.

The VHS Athletics Banquet will be Monday, May 9.

The VHS Band Banquet will be Tuesday, May 10.

State tests are continuing through May 17.

The last full day for Seniors who are expecting to graduate is May 13.

Senior Awards Night is Monday, May 16.

Scholarships have been updated on the school website.  Students may go under “Student’s Corner” for a list of available scholarships and qualifications for each.  Also check on the “Get2College link for additional scholarships.   Please note and adhere to the deadlines for these scholarships.

AP Exam Schedule

If you are taking the AP Exam, bring the remainder of your exam fee in cash, to Ms. Tello by this Friday, April 29th. The remainder is $72. Exams begin next week and will be as follows:

Tuesday, May 3rd- AP Physics exam, Noon

Wednesday, May 4th AP English exam, Eight am

Thursday, May 5th AP Calculus exam, Eight am

Friday, May 6th AP US History exam, Eight am

Monday May 9th AP Biology exam, Eight am

The VHS Choir Spring Concert will be on Thursday, April 14, 6:30 p.m., in the auditorium.

No school on Friday, April 15, for April Break.

The Vicksburg Warren Chapter of the Alcorn State University National Alumni Association will sponsor its 19th Annual SWAC Shootout and Step Show on Saturday, April 16, in the VHS gym beginning at 12:00 noon. Admission is $5 and benefits the scholarship fund.

Key Club seniors are asked to go by Mrs. Farrish’s room to pick up information relating to the 2016 Key Club scholarships. Deadline for submitting the application is April 18.

The ACT test will be administered to all Juniors on Tuesday, April 19.

Please note that Wednesday, April 20, is a 60% day.

Students inducted into the 2016 VHS Hall of Fame are:  Destiny Allen, Keiyanna Gaskins, Elishia Howard, Ashley Jones, Monique Jones, Raven Ross, Nakeia Stewart, Demetrius Valentine, Jamison Watson, and Rikaiyah Winters. The VHS Family, parents, and friends congratulate these students for this prestigious honor.

The 2016 Gator Award recipients are:  Marshall Banks, DeAndre Davis, Jadarius Flagg, Jazmin Green, Ashley Moore, Olivia Oakes, Jessica Parson, Micah Williams, and DeShun Younger. The VHS Family, parents, and friends congratulate these students for this outstanding award.

Bruckner’s Photography will be on campus on Friday, April 8 to take cap and gown portraits. Attach full payment with order form to present to photographer.

If you would like to know the real athletic hoopers at VHS, come check out the Freshmen vs. Sophomore and Juniors vs. Seniors showcase game on Friday, April 8 in the VHS gym during 4th block. Admission is on $3. See Coach Robinson for details.

National Honor Society senior members and graduating juniors who are planning to purchase or rent a stole and tassel for graduation ceremonies need to see Dr. O’Leary as soon as possible.
